Playground Hopscotch

Hopscotch is a wonderful hopping game that can be played on a bare patch of ground or on a floor indoors or out.

It’s a wonderful way to keep children entertained, active and healthily for hours at a time.

Just in case it’s along time since you played this is what you do:
The first player stands behind the starting line to toss the marker into square 1. Hop over square 1 and land onto square 2, carry on hopping over to square 10, turn around and hop back again. Once you are back on to square 2 pick up the marker, hop on to square one, and jump back over the star line. Carry this process out until you get to number 10. The objective is to hop on one foot unless the hopscotch is such that two squares are side-by-side. Then two feet can be placed down with one in each square. The player must always hop over any square where a marker has been placed.

The player is out if:

  1. The marker fails to land in the proper square
  2. The player steps on a line
  3. The player goes into the square where the marker is
  4. The player looses balance when bending to pick the marker up
  5. The player uses a second hand to steady themselves
  6. The player uses a second leg to balance themselves
